OMG! I’m getting an Award for Photographing Murals in Winnipeg.
I need to calm down if I’m ever going be ready for the event in time, but it’s hard not to be excited when I’m receiving:
“The Great Photographer Tribute Award” from Free Tag Zone
The Free Tag Zone network sites Graffs en Capitales and Voyage en éphémère have posted some of the shots I took of Street Art on my recent trip to the Mural rich city of Winnipeg.
Now Free Tag Zone has a new concept to document these Murals When Resa Meets The Murals Of Winnipeg . As a matter of fact, the Official Acceptance and Thank You is taking place over there. Oh, and I’m the “Chief of Project” at When Resa Meets The Murals Of Winnipeg. I’m like, beyond ecstatic.
I need a special outfit for this .
Should I wear this Vintage (circa 1942) Black Net with sequins gown that I personally had underlined with blood red silk satin?
OR this antique (circa 1920) ecru lace gown with a training tail? I paired it with a beaded damask blazer (circa 1990)
Rats, I’ve run out of time! Sherrie, my driver, is here with the Limo!
I pick the black and red dress and run.
Tail lights burn stars in my eyes, as Sherrie guides the Limo through Queen’s end.
Blinded, I use a flashlight app to go over my “Thank you” speech from the back seat.
I am deeply honored to accept “The Great Photographer Tribute Award” from Free Tag Zone
I’d like to thank everyone on the Free Tag Zone Editorial Board for their unanimous decision to give me this Award.
I especially thank Eric Vandersteenen (Director – General Administrator) and Monique Deveen (Artistic Director – Main Photographer).
In my heart I thank Sherrie for chauffeuring me all over Winnipeg to shoot the Murals. Our adventures rock a lifetime! Although she was very sneaky taking pics of me while I took pics of Art. Sherrie’s Shots
All right, I’ve arrived at the Official Acceptance and Thank You
Free Tag Zone and its network sites Graffs en Capitales and Voyage en éphémère seriously rocks the Blog Art world with it’s passion for the ephemeral. I love it there!

It was an absolute honor and pleasure going on this adventure with you! Thank you for making me feel glamorous by the virtue of your mere presence. You are always stunning. The gowns are the icing on the most delicious cake….beautiful! Congratulations on your award! I’ve always been so proud of you and revel in your creativity and talent. I look forward to spending more time with you. Miss you so much and love you always!! XOXO
Love you Sherrie! xoxoxo
I will be back in Winnipeg, and you will drive me to more murals. We will have a blast!!!!!!
Congratulations, dear sweet Resa. The photographs are superb! You have every right to feel excited and honoured. Your photography skills are extremely good. I love that you’ve captured many of the murals ‘up close’; it shows the fantastic artistry of their makers.
Well done to you….
Sherrie has to be congratulated too! Her shots of you are wonderful, giving a fabulous ‘catalog’ of the process.
Congratulations Sherrie…!
Oh Carolyn, Thank you so much! This is very exciting for me! I just love that you made such a long visit. You are my Star from Australia! It means a lot to me.
Sherrie is definitely to be congratulated as well. I can hardly wait to go Muralling with her again.
BTW Did I pick the right dress, or do you like the Ecru lace one better?
I’m still looking, there are so many wonderful murals to see. I’m a little ‘blown away’ by the quality!
What a wonderful thing for you to do. Right up your alley, for sure.
I love both dresses; you are so clever to have put the red satin under the black. Yes, the other gown is superb as well. How can one choose between fabulous and fabulous…!?!
Lol! You’re a doll! xoxoxo & more hugs!
Thank you Carolyn!

Virginia! Thank you!
Well done – both the award and the gowns. Not to mention the post! Love when you do this. Such a great read.
Thanks! I love it when you visit and comment!
So this is a different side to your talents! Some interesting photos on the other website. Re the black v white dresses above, I think I liked the black one best… for what it’s worth.
Yay! You picked the dress I did!
And well, about the other talent side… go figure? I’ve had a lot of fun!
As in I didn’t know you had this website as well.
And, er, relief I picked the right dress!
You picked the right dress!
great to see that
Thanks!
Wonderful Resa- Love and hugs to you
Love and hugs to you to!!! xoxoxoxo
It is nice to see all your recent fame hasn’t gone to your head. ^_^ Congrats on a well-deserved award! I would’ve been frozen in indecision trying to choose between the two lovely dresses, and would never have made it to the award in time. Well done!
LOL! I’m so excited about all this new photography!
My Blog is for entertainment, having fun mostly. The photography has added a lot.
Your words are very beautiful on your Blog! Thank you!

Congratulations, Resa. Another well-deserved award.
Great pick on the dress. I loved going over to Free Tag Zone to view your Winnipeg Mural photos. What a clever idea. Terrific! Thanks for sharing.
Lori, thank you so much! Free Tag Zone is the best for documenting ephemeral art, and I’m so pleased to be a part of that network now.
Thanks about the dresses, and I’ll see you on the Patio soon! (With my blanket!)
I just got it!! LOVE the subliminal tie in with the gowns and the header mural. Brilliant and beautiful, is there no end?
There is no end to Queen’s end!
There is no one like you for accepting an award. I LERV both of these dresses. The drama of the first one is stunning and I have always loved the fashion of the twenties. And since I am emphatically not built for it myself, it’s wonderful to see it on you! The photos and murals are cool too, of course (love a mural) but mostly I come for the glory of you!
You are so wonderful! Thank you for your lovely words, Imelda.Gowns are so much fun, but except for my Blog, it seems I’m always dressing someone else in them.
When will your book be available in Canada? I can hardly wait!
definitely the black! Just misses the best part, the smile!
Aw!
Thanks!
